Kasper Schmeichel was blindsided last night by a bombshell confession from a former team-mate.
The Celtic goalkeeper was informed that Micah Richards and Richard Dunne had chosen Joe Hart over him while they were all at Manchester City.
Richards recalled a meeting with then manager Sven-Goran Eriksson where he and Dunne were asked who they would prefer to play in goal between the two City keepers.

The pundit admitted on CBS Sports Golazo that Hart was the choice leaving Schmeichel out of the first-choice goalkeeper spot.
Richards made the confession, then apology, live on air on Wednesday night as Peter Schmeichel brought up the matter.
The legendary goalkeeper said: "Before we talk about the game, we the Schmeichel family, have a bone to pick with Micah.
"Micah, can you just repeat what it is you said before just so we know what we are talking about?"
Richards explained: "Kasper knows. Peter, sorry, you only found out a couple of months ago.
"Basically, Sven brought me and Richard Dunne to his room. I said I didn't want to pick but Richard Dunne and I said, 'Shall we just go with Joe?'.
"There was nothing against you. Look at the career you had. If it wasn't for me you wouldn't have had the career you've had now anyway so you should be thanking me!
"I apologise anyway, Kasper."

Stunned Schmeichel responded: "I didn't know this Meeks! This is news to me."
He then added: "Imagine what it [my career] could have been though.
Schmeichel Sr then insisted he didn't buy the tale from the pundit as he joked Eriksson would never consult the former right-back over a key decision.
He said: "I actually think Micah is making himself more important, I cannot imagine for one second Sven asking him. Not for one second."
"I think it was four or five clean sheets out of seven," added the Celtic goalkeeper. "But Meeks you must have carried a lot of weight it seems."
Pundit Richards then joked: "I'm still carrying a lot of weight after that Chinese."
