Celtic midfielder's playing time dwindles, transfer interest grows

Luis Palma is facing a potential exit from Celtic in January, with a latest reports suggesting his chances of regaining a place under manager Brendan Rodgers have significantly diminished.

Palma, who was signed on a five-year deal from Greek side Aris Thessaloniki in August 2023, has only featured eight times this season and has been made to settle for just one substitute appearance since the end of October.

He scored and provided an assist against Chelsea during pre-season and also netted in a thrilling 4-3 win over Manchester City. Those performances gave off the impression that he could be a key player for the current campaign.

However, Daizen Maeda has the left-wing position nailed down, while Nicolas Kuhn, James Forrest and Hyun-Jun Yang are all capable of filling in too across multiple areas.

Now according to La Prensa, Olympiacos have emerged as contenders for Palma's signature, having approached the 24-year-old about a move to Greece.

Additionally, two Major League Soccer clubs are reportedly interested in securing the midfielder’s services as well. With the January transfer window fast approaching, developments regarding Palma's future could unfold rapidly.
