Celtic loanee Osaze Urhoghide facing ban after red card tackle

Celtic loanee Osaze Urhoghide was sent off for the second time during his loan at KV Oostende as he was ordered off for a late challenge against Standard Liege.

The Parkhead defender, 22, is on a season-long loan in Belgium and has been a regular player for Oostende.

But, he suffered a nightmare performance against Ronny Deila's Standard Liege as he was shown a straight red card to kill any comeback hopes for his side.

An early double from Noah Ohio followed by Marlon Joseph Fossey's 19th-minute strike had Standard in total control but Oostende threatened to mount a comeback with Kelvin Arase pulling one back before the break.

However, any chance of a major comeback was dashed when Urhoghide was shown a straight red for a lunge on Philip Zinckernagel.

Urhoghide launched into a fierce challenge in the midfield and was quickly ordered off.

It's his second red card this season having been sent off for two yellow cards against RFC Seraing previously.

The red card leaves Urhoghide facing a two-match suspension.

Meanwhile, the referee for this Saturday's Celtic vs Rangers derby clash has been revealed.

Kevin Clancy will take charge of the powderkeg fixture between Glasgow's big two.

The experienced official will be the man in the middle and will be assisted by David McGeachie and Ross Macleod, with John Beaton appointed as the fourth official.

Nick Walsh will be on VAR duties, alongside assistant Daniel McFarlane.

The teams will meet for the fourth time this season at the weekend, although will only be the third time in league business.
