Celtic loanee earns 'he's a monster' assessment after completing transfer away from Parkhead

Osaze Urhoghide has earned rave reviews following his loan transfer away from Celtic to Belgian side Oostende.

The central defender - who can also play right-back - joined the Hoops last summer from Sheffield Wednesday alongside Liam Shaw as a raft of new faces arrived at Parkhead. He has failed to make enough of impression on boss Ange Postecoglou to feature regularly and he has returned to Belgium, where he spent six months of last season at Oostende.

He's now back abroad and boss Yves Vanderhaeghe has been wowed by Urhoghide's physical condition. Confidence has to grow first but there is no doubt in his mind that the Celtic loanee can go on and establish a fine career for himself. Speaking of the defender, he said: "Look at him. He's a beast. He's a monster. His physique makes such a strong impression. He definitely has so many qualities.

"But of course, the first thing a defender has to do is defend, of course. Osaze still has to grow a bit by taking the initiative with the ball.

"If he happens to get on the ball, he needs a bit more conviction and confidence at his feet. But he has enormous potential for sure."

A return to Celtic might not beckon for the defender even if he shines in Belgium, with Oostende holding an option to buy.
