Celtic appear unlikely to sign Kelechi Iheanacho from Sevilla today, with the striker expected to seal a loan move elsewhere.
Iheanacho had worked with Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers at Leciester City and was identified as a possible option to replace Kyogo Furuhashi, who joined Rennes in a £10million deal last week.
But the 28-year-old Nigerian is now close to joining English Championship side Middlesbrough instead.
Iheanacho netted six times from 26 appearances as he helped Leicester gain promotion from the second tier last season.

Sky Sports claim the player has passed a medical (as of 10:30am) and will pen a loan deal until the end of the 2024-25 campaign, with the Teeside club having an option to buy.
Rodgers has limited forward alternatives to Adam Idah and will be working with the Celtic board to bring in targets before Monday's 11pm transfer deadline.
