Celtic made the bold call to allow fan favourite and star striker Kyogo Furuhashi to depart the club this month, joining Rennes for £10million.
It could be seen as shrewd business to let a 30-year-old move on and receive a decent fee in the process, but now it's all about replacing him with quality.
That's because the Hoops are only left with Adam Idah as a senior striker option, although Johnny Kenny is back from a successful loan at Shamrock Rovers and could receive extra game time in the interim, while Daizen Maeda can also deputise up front if required.
One player that Celtic have been strongly linked with during the January transfer window is Aston Villa's Louie Barry.
The 21-year-old forward was recently recalled from a productive loan spell at Stockport County in English League One, where the netted 25 goals from 46 appearances over a season-and-a-half.
Aston Villa made that call to reassess his options and try move him up a level.

It was thought that Celtic were keen to purchase Barry permanently, whereas Villa preferred to facilitate another loan switch.
And it appears that English Championship outfit Hull City will be his next destination rather than Parkhead this month.
Reports state Barry will undergo a medical at the MKM Stadium on Tuesday, with the club paying a £1million loan fee and covering his entire wages.
Celtic re-signed playmaker Jota on Monday which does add to Brendan Rodgers' attacking options.
