Celtic legend Chris Sutton to join Sky Sports as he teams up with Rangers hero Kris Boyd

Sky Sports have landed a major coup after snapping up Chris Sutton to cover Scottish Premiership action next season.

The Celtic hero will make the move to the broadcast giant in time for the new campaign kicking-off and join Rangers idol Kris Boyd in a box-office pairing for the SPFL's main TV partner. He has worked for rivals BT Sport for an extended period in what is a blockbuster signing for Sky as they ramp up their coverage of the Scottish game.

Sutton is not shy in airing his views and over the years has established a role as one of the most outspoken pundits in the Scottish game. His new colleague Boyd is also not one to hold back and it could prove to be brilliant viewing for fans up and down the country.

He will join presenter Eilidh Barbour and Scotland hero James McFadden and become one of the top pundits alongside Boyd in the studio.

Sutton - who is also a regular on Viaplay, BBC and other media outlets - will no doubt have his fair share of on-air spats with Boyd and the others with the Hoops idol not afraid to share his strong opinions on the game, players and managers.

The coverage of this season came to an end yesterday with the final game of the campaign the Premiership play-off final second leg between Ross County and Partick Thistle.

But fans won't have to wait long with the new season just around the corner and with that a brand new entertainment factor coming to our screens.
