Celtic learn Wolves pre season replacement opponents as South Korea organisers reveal new friendly rivals

South Korea organisers have revealed they are lining up Celtic to face local side Incheon United instead of Wolves, after the Premier League club withdrew from their tour.

The Hoops were stunned to discover their planned pre-season glamour clash with Wolves on July 26 in South Korea was cancelled after the Molineux club pulled out because of financial concerns about the trip, with Jose Mourinho's Roma also withdrawing. However, organisers Stadium X are desperately trying to arrange a replacement game instead for Celtic and have lined up K-League outfit Incheon United instead to play.

They stated: "While the visits of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Roma have been cancelled, a match between Celtic and Incheon United is still progressing. We are changing our original schedule and promoting a match now between Incheon and Celtic, who have national striker Oh Hyeon-gyu in their team. We would like to express our deepest apologies to football fans in South Korea for the cancellation of some of the matches."

Napoli and Mallorca were both due originally to be part of a five-team tournament in the Asian country, but both quickly pulled out, before Roma and Wolves followed them. Now Celtic will wait to see if the new game can be hastily arranged, which would take place after their tour of Japan where they face Yokohama F.Marinos and Gamba Osaka.
