Celtic 'interested' in Nottingham Forest centre-back Scott McKenna

Celtic are reportedly "interested" in Nottingham Forest centre-back Scott McKenna.

This is according to outlet PLZ Soccer who claim that the Hoops are "one of a number of clubs interested in the Scotland international with tentative enquires having been made".

McKenna joined the Premier League side from Aberdeen in 2020 for £3milllion but was recently frozen out by now-former manager Steve Cooper.

The 27-year-old looks likely to leave Forest in the January window and could be option for Brendan Rodgers' side as they look to strengthen their defensive options.

Meanwhile, Celtic have announced Adam Sadler as their new first-team coach after the departure of Harry Kewell for Yokohama F.Marinos.

The 44-year-old previously worked under Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City, while also having spells at Manchester City, Newcastle United FC, Plymouth Argyle and Norwich City.

And the Englishman detailed his excitement at coming to work in Glasgow.

He aid: "I am delighted to be joining Celtic. It is such an iconic club with such a brilliant history, a phenomenal fan base and tremendous record of success.

"I can’t wait to join up with the management team and get working with the players and hopefully play my part in brining even more success to the club.'

“It goes without saying I am really looking forward to teaming up with Brendan again. We worked closely at Leicester City and enjoyed some good times.

"I know exactly the way Brendan likes to play and what he demands from his players and staff, so I am sure once again we can work together and achieve really positive results.”
