Celtic have released an interview with Ange Postecoglou hyping the Sydney Super Cup following claims the tournament is in "serious doubt".
The Hoops announced plans to head to Australia alongside Rangers during the November international break for a four-team tournament also featuring Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers.
The trip will see the first ever overseas meeting between the rivals but plans have been met with significant backlash from supporters.
Major fan groups including the Green Brigade and the Union Bears have called for the trip to be scrapped with the friendly derby causing outrage.
And a report emerged on Thursday suggesting the tournament is now in "serious doubt."
But Celtic have shown no official signs of backing down and just hours after those reports emerged, they released a video in which Postecoglou looks ahead to the winter tournament.
He said: "I haven't been home for a couple of years. By the time we get around to that it will have been almost three years, so I'm super excited.
"It will be great. The club's been down there a couple of times before, I know just how passionate people are about the club there, so I'm looking forward to it.
"It's a homecoming in many respects. That's where my roots are, it's where I grew up and I know that since I've been in this position people have been following my journey.
"I'll have a great sense of pride going back there as manager of Celtic.
"It'll be special. The club have always had a strong connection with Australia and I've been exposed to it.
"I know how passionate the supporters' groups are down there, whether that's through Scott McDonald, Tom Rogic or Jackson Irvine, the Australians who have passed through the club.
"To now be manager of the club, I think the Australian public in general will take great pride that one of theirs is in charge of such a famous club."
