Celtic hero Tom Rogic grabs FA Cup goal after punishing BACK-HEEL with delightful West Brom finish

Tom Rogic grabbed his first FA Cup goal with a tidy lob as he capitalised on a shocking Chesterfield mistake.

West Brom ran out comfortable 4-0 winners over the National League side in their third round replay to set up a clash with English Championship rivals Bristol City in round four. John Swift fired the hosts ahead midway through the first period before former Celtic man Rogic got in on the action in quite bizarre circumstances.

After cutting out a cross, Chesterfield defender Jeff King attempted a BACK-HEEL inside his own box with the ball rolling into the path of the ex-Hoops star. Visiting goalkeeper Lucas Covolan came flying out to the feet of the Australia international but he showed great calmness and awareness to lift the ball over the stopper into the roof of the net to put the home side two ahead after 48 minutes. Jake Livermore added a third just six minutes later before Jovan Malcolm rounded-off the perfect night for the hosts with a fourth goal in added-time.

After a slow start to their league campaign the Baggies have hit a rich run of form and now find themselves inside the promotion play-off places in sixth spot. They've won nine of their last ten league matches with Coventry City the only team to beat them in that incredible run of form.

Speaking after the big win, boss Carlos Corberan told the official West Brom website: “The team achieved the target that we set out to achieve. We had a responsibility to get through to the next round and thankfully we did that.

“The first goal was important for us and I was pleased to see John Swift score. I think the goal will help show him his possibilities. He was one of the best players of the game.

“He was the connection between the midfielders and the strikers and he was creating chances for us.They started to attack us more in the latter stages of the first half and we had to defend a little deeper.

“They were starting to dominate and we knew we had to correct that in the second half. We were better after the second goal and then up to the third goal, which gave us a clear advantage.

“They had a lot of possession after our third goal but then we went and scored right at the end."
