CHRIS SUTTON has delivered a brutal Rangers dig over their Champions League first-leg loss to Union Saint-Gilloise as he hailed Dundee United's triumph last night.
The Celtic hero was quick to praise Dundee United for their 1-0 first-leg win over AZ Alkmaar at Tannadice - but he couldn't resist a dig at the Ibrox club.
Sutton - who was promoting Scottish Football Extra - trolled Rangers as he insisted Dundee United were "propping up the coefficient single handed".
Sutton's tweet read: "Looking forward to Scottish Football Extra tonight 6.30pm on BT Sport with Ally and talking Dundee United (Ally’s second favourite team) propping up the coefficient this week single handed... 😂😂"
Rangers fell to a 2-0 defeat in the away leg to Belgian side Union - with the return fixture at Ibrox in midweek.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side will require a major performance to overturn the deficit if they are to qualify for the Champions league play-off round.
Meanwhile, Glenn Middleton's second-half strike earned Dundee United a lead to take to the Netherlands next week in their Europa Conference League qualifying campaign.
