Celtic hero Scott Brown lining up second transfer raid on SPFL for Fleetwood Town

Celtic hero Scott Brown is lining up his second raid on Scotland by snapping up Regan Charles-Cook, according to reports.

The Ross County star has been in stunning form this season with the club desperate to tie him down to fresh terms.

Hoops legend Broony has already captured Shaun Rooney as his first Fleetwood Town signing.

And the Scottish Sun reports he could be ready to bring in a second player from north of the border.

Aberdeen and Hibs are also both keen on the Staggies hitman, who was a key reason behind Malky Mackay's men finishing in the top six.

The 25-year-old has been offered the chance to remain in Dingwall but his club boss admits they are likely to be blown out the water by other interested parties.

Brown managed to fend off interest from Premiership new boys Kilmarnock and other teams south of the border to land versatile Rooney.

And he is out to work his magic once again.

A club statement read: "Fleetwood Town are delighted to announce an agreement has been reached to sign Scottish defender Shaun Rooney.

"The 25-year-old will become new Town Head Coach Scott Brown’s first summer signing, beating off competition from a number of Scottish Premiership and EFL club’s for his signature.

"Rooney played a huge part in St Johnstone’s survival in the Scottish Premiership last season playing 32 times and scoring in their play-off win against Inverness on Monday night.

"The defender has agreed a two-year deal at Highbury Stadium, subject to international clearance.

"Welcome to Highbury Stadium, Shaun!"
