The second leg result meant Mikel Arteta's men emerged 5-1 victors on aggregate, with Tierney coming on for the closing stages in Madrid last night.

After Arsenal made it to the last-four, Izaguirre took to Instagram, paying tribute to his old teammate by posting a picture of him wearing an Arsenal shirt with 'Tierney 3' printed on the back:

Tierney and Izaguirre played together for three years at Celtic.

The now Arsenal man broke into the team at the expense of the Honduran, who later returned to Glasgow in 2018 for a second stint in green and white after his initial departure at the end of the 2016/17 season.

Tierney is due back at Celtic this summer after penning a pre-contract to return to his boyhood club.

The 27-year-old has spent six years at Arsenal after a £25m move, and could end his spell at the Emirates Arena with a Champions League winners' medal.

Arsenal take on Paris Saint-Germain in the competition's semi-finals. The first leg takes place in London a week on Tuesday.
