Emilio Izaguirre has taken the next step in his career after landing a sporting director role at homeland club Olancho FC following his decision to retire from the game.
The former Celtic star was released from his last club at the end of the season after surgery on his knee and studied sports management in order to keep himself in the game. His hard work has paid off after club owner Reynaldo Tilguath confirmed the switch and that he has gained all the required qualifications from UEFA.
The former Honduras international joined the Hoops back in 2010 from Motagua and went on to spend eight years at the club over two spells. His initial stay lasted seven years before he made the switch to Al-Fayha in Saudi Arabia - but after a 'one year of sadness' he made the return to Parkhead under Brendan Rodgers in 2018 to provide cover for now Scotland and Arsenal star Kieran Tierney.
