Hamilton Accies head coach John Rankin has cleared up rumours that Celtic cult hero Efe Ambrose could sign for his club.
The former Nigerian international is looking for a new team after ending a frustrating spell at St Johnstone with a loan move to Dunfermline Athletic as they were relegated from the Scottish Championship to League One. He is now in training with Accies as they continue their second tier campaign, which has started with draws against Morton and Partick Thistle.
Ambrose has been in training with them but Rankin tells Lanarkshire Live Sport that is all his stint at New Douglas Park will be. The central defender became a cult hero at Celtic Park as he won four Premiership titles after joining the club in 2012, joining Hibs five years later. Rankin said: "Efe has been in training, and this has been doing the rounds for weeks. We've been allowing him to come in and use our facilities.
