Chris Sutton reckons a move to Tottenham from Celtic would be a "downgrade" for Ange Postecoglou - but conceded the manager will want a shot in the Premier League.
The Celtic boss has been linked with a switch to Tottenham after Arne Slot ruled himself out of the running for the vacant post.
Sutton admits himself that Postecoglou will likely be keen to test himself in the Premier League in the future.
However, the pundit reckons Tottenham are a "smaller club" than Celtic as he reacted to speculation over a move to London for Postecoglou.
On Twitter, Sutton commented: "I want Ange Postecoglou to stay at Celtic and have a crack at the CL next season and Tottenham Hotspur is clearly a downgrade/smaller club than Celtic but nobody can deny the fact that Ange will want a crack at the Premier League down south at some stage…"
Postecoglou earlier today was quizzed on his position amid the links to Tottenham.
And he insisted his full focus is on matters at Celtic despite the rumours of Premier League interest.
"I’ve been asked about these things plenty – and yet I’m still here," he smiled while speaking to Sky Sports.
"It doesn’t [come onto my radar] and anyone who knows me knows whats important is the here and now – I've never planned anything in my football career.
"My ambitions are to enjoy tomorrow and then try to win a cup final and make it a special year.
"It’s not every year you have the opportunity to win a treble and if anyone thinks I’m thinking anything other than that they don’t know me.
"I know that’s not how football works. You can’t as manager chart a course to be in a certain position at a certain time.
“I do know 100 percent if you’re not concentrated in the task at hand your destiny is quickly taken out of your hands.”
