It's only two games into a new Premiership season and already the football is taking a backseat with a Hotline of condemnation over fan behaviour.
Hibs have announced an investigation after Hearts Alex Cochrane appeared to be struck by a cigarette lighter during Sunday's Easter Road and several home fans invaded the pitch after Martin Boyle's stoppage-time equaliser. Alan Mackie, Bellshill , said: "Once again the response from Hibs on the appalling behaviour of their fans is absolutely disgraceful. Describing the missile throwing as "passion" is right out of the "boisterous fun" playbook. If a player sustains an injury or loses an eye will they still come away with this utter nonsense?"
William Hutchison, Aberdeen, said: "After seeing the shocking scenes at Easter Road on Sunday, it might help to stop the fans from every club from throwing things onto the pitch and at players if the SFA fined the clubs. The offending fans should be banned and clubs should be forced to play five games behind closed doors and 10 points deducted. That would show that this type of behaviour will not be tolerated."
Gerry Murphy, Giffnock, said: "I had to laugh at Robbie Neilson having a go at Hibs fans for throwing missiles at the derby game, " Hearts fans do it all the time to Celtic players at the corner flag, one of them assaulted Neil Lennon but nothing was done about that."
John Scott, Grassmoor, said: "As a Hibs fan I totally agree with Rangers supporter Alfie Mullen. The morons in the Hibs support need cleared out and kept away from the vast majority who are the equal of any. Perhaps Alfie could reciprocate and condemn his fellow fans for their behaviour such as the bottles thrown at Hibs players at the League Cup semi-final at Hampden and the pitch invasions at Partick Thistle and Kilmarnock. I'm sure he feels every bit as embarrassed when fellow fans act like idiots."
Stephen Mulhern, Dumbarton, said: "It doesn’t surprise me to hear that John Kennedy would be interested in taking the managerial post at Midtjylland. With Harry Kewell arriving it’s clear that Ange Postecoqlou is bringing in his own coaching staff and Kennedy is rapidly going down the pecking order in his plans going forward."
Jimmy Murray, Edinburgh, said: "Let's hope Kennedy goes but I don’t think he will. He’s got it too easy and was one of the many instigators of the 10-in-a-row mess. He's a constant hanger-on and now in his 10th job at the club and he’s done well with testimonial matches and dinners."
Chris Lowe, Yoker, said: "I predict Jota will be the next in line to get the £30 million rated headlines from the usual suspects just like the French penalty taker got. Good displays against Ross County and an Aberdeen team managed by Celtic supporting Jim Goodwin doesn't carry much clout with admirers.
"Come back when he's turning It on and gaining plaudits like Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos for displays against Porto and Borussia Dortmund on the big European stage."
Tom Paterson, Falkirk, said: "Hotline caller John Bruce needs a reality check after saying he's annoyed at Kilmarnock's tactics of sitting in at Ibrox. What does he expect? We have one team at home assembled at a cost of many millions against a team newly promoted and made up of free transfers, loanees and bargain basement signings.
"It isn't a level playing field up here as there are only two teams who have money to buy good, class players. Get used to it mate."
Tim Gibbens , emailed: "If Hibs didn’t spend so much money on flop signings and failed managers, maybe they’d be able to offer their fans better half-time food than a handful of cold, soggy chips?"
And finally,
Scott Gowers, Edinburgh . said: The BBC shows Scotland so much disregard that the TV licence should not apply here. James Heatly and Grace Reid win gold for Scotland and there's a request for everyone who can stand for the national anthem of Scotland to do so but no the BBC decided to interview runners-up at the time of the medal ceremony. It's an absolute disgrace as any after the fact interview for runners up should have waited."
