Celtic granted special invitation to visit The White House on US pre-season tour

Celtic's first day of training on their US pre-season tour was a success, with Brendan Rodgers' men even earning a special invitation to the White House.

The Scottish Premiership champions were put through their paces in the Washington DC heat. Temperatures touched 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37°C) but the Hoops squad still managed to complete a strong morning session to kick things off across the Atlantic.

Once they had been put through their paces, the Celtic stars were granted some down time and that meant visiting one of the most iconic, and influential buildings in North America - the White House.

Rodgers' men were given a tour of Joe Biden's official residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and are said to have really enjoyed the experience.

Returning to football matters, Celtic face DC United at Audi Field Stadium on Saturday before they go head-to-head with English Premier League winners, Manchester City, in North Carolina next Wednesday.

Their trip is then rounded off by taking on Chelsea in Indiana the following weekend.
