Celtic goalkeeper Tobi Oluwayemi has joined Cork City on a loan until the end of June.
The Rebels were in the market for a new ‘keeper following David Harrington’s recent move to Fleetwood Town.
Oluwayemi, 19, will battle Jimmy Corcoran for the gloves when the Leesiders mark their return to the Premier Division.
Well regarded by the Scottish champions, he joined Celtic from Tottenham on a three-year deal in 2019.
And Oluwayemi has been capped by England all the way up to Under-19 level.
Rebels boss Colin Healy - a former Celtic player - said: “We’ve been working on this for a while and we’re delighted to get Tobi in.
“We’ve a very good relationship with Celtic, and we appreciate their help in getting this deal done.
“Tobi is a very talented lad and we’re looking forward to working with him over the coming months.
“He will strengthen our squad and I am looking forward to seeing him in training next week.”
Oluwayemi is relishing the chance to stake a claim for first-team football and said: “I’m really happy to be joining Cork City.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for me. When I first heard that Cork City were interested, it was a move I thought could be very good for me.
“I know Barry Coffey well from his time at Celtic, and he had a lot of good things to say about the club, about where the club wants to go and the supporters.
“I’m looking forward to getting over to Cork and meeting everyone.”
