Celtic favourite set for double duty in Liverpool charity clash as he signs up for half each

Robbie Keane is set to play for both Celtic and Liverpool in their legends this weekend.

The Republic of Ireland legend will turn out for the Parkhead club in one half then swap shirts and put on the red of Liverpool in the charity contest on Saturday afternoon. Well-known former players from both sides are set to take to the pitch at Anfield with Stan Petrov to captain Paul Lambert's side. Celtic will also be able to call upon the likes of Artur Boruc, Mikael Lustig, Trevor Sinclair, Niall McGinn, Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Harald Brattbakk.

Keane joined Celtic on a six-month loan from Tottenham Hotspurs back in 2010 on the last day of the January window. Thousands of Celtic supporters gathered outside the ground to see him sign just after midnight. Although the spell at Parkhead wasn't successful in terms of trophies he was still able to bag 16 goals in six months.

Two years earlier he signed for Liverpool and netted five goals in 19 appearance. His spell in Merseyside did not last long as he left to rejoin Tottenham during the 2009 January transfer window under Harry Redknapp.

Liverpool in the legends game will have former Rangers manager Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Dirk Kuyt, Gary McAllister and Sami Hyypia in their ranks as Kenny Dalglish takes charge of the Merseyside club for the match for charity.

The match has been organised by the LFC Foundation with all proceeds from the game going to good causes supported by Celtic and Liverpool.
