Celtic fans vent 'good deal of anger' at Brendan Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers was on the receiving end of "a good deal of anger" from a section of the Celtic support at full-time of today's game.

St Johnstone held the Scottish champions to a 0-0 draw in Glasgow as the Premiership's bottom side, who were without a single point so far this season prior to this afternoon caused the upset.

It comes just six days after the Hoops were humbled at the hands of Kilmarnock in the Viaplay Cup, as Marley Watkins' goal sent the treble holders out of the competition at the last 16 stage.

Now, BBC reports that the Green Brigade vented their frustrations in the direction of Rodgers post-match this afternoon.

Around 100 fans waited behind after the full-time whistle to let the players and the boss know what they thought of the 90 minutes.

Reporter Alasdair Lamont told Sportsound: "I just watched the Celtic manager and players do what you might normally call a lap of honour in going round the Celtic Park playing surface and clapping the fans.

"When they go to the area where the Green Brigade stand I would say they were met with a good deal of anger from about 100 or so fans - I guess most of that directed at the manager.

"If you remember some sections of the support weren't enamoured with the appointment of Brendan Rodgers and it was certainly felt this afternoon after they failed to clinch all three points."

It comes as the ultras group accused Rangers of "killing" the derby with Celtic.

They unveiled a banner during the match with Saints which read: "They killed their club. Now they are killing the derby. Bring back the old allocations."
