Celtic fans gush over 'class' unseen McGregor moment after Idah winner

Celtic fans have hailed Callum McGregor for his "class" unseen moment against Rangers as an alternate angle uncovered his message to players after Adam Idah's goal.

Supporters were left gushing over the "beyond priceless" captain as his firm warning to team-mates to remain focused after taking the lead was revealed.

In Celtic's unique angle of the winning goal and celebrations, McGregor can be seen celebrating with Idah and Co before showing his leadership.

Footage shows McGregor thrusting his arms to suggest his side must go again after taking the lead in the final minute of the final.

He then clearly gestures that there is time left in the final in a warning to avoid complacency or allow a late equaliser.

McGregor then gathers team-mates Idah, Nico Kuhn, Paulo Bernardo and Daizen Maeda to lay down his demands in the final minutes of the match.

It appears the Celtic captain was labouring the point of time being left on the clock and to remain tight in the last few minutes and he urged them on to secure victory.

Fans have hailed McGregor's display of leadership in the short clip with one commenting: "McGregor just gets it."

Another wrote on X: "Callum McGregor is the true definition of a leader and a captain."

A third replied: "Great angle and I love how Callum tells the players that there is still time left and it seems like he is telling them to keep their focus for the remaining minutes."

And a fourth added: "Callum McGregor is beyond priceless. He is the perfect representation of what a captain and leader should be. Our captain. Our leader."

It comes after McGregor revealed he feared Idah was offside for his winning goal.

"I thought he was offside," chuckled McGregor. "I actually thought he was offside!

"I knew it was going to have to be a good finish because [Jack] Butland makes himself big, and to be fair it's a great finish he goes under him.

"He's probably the one player you fancy in that situation, I was just hoping he wasn't offside and with VAR and everything, it's cool.

"Amazing to see the ball hitting the back of the net on the stroke of 90 minutes as well. Delighted with that.

"And then you knew the hard work was going to be from there in the eight or nine minutes of extra time."
