Celtic fans 'crack' Brendan Rodgers final flight as sleuths work out his route back to Paradise

Football fans back in the day had to make do with the morning papers and teletext for updates on signings and deals for new managers.

But the modern world beats to a different drum and Celtic supporters are on tenterhooks as they crave a return for the man who boasts a perfect record from his first spell in charge of seven trophies out of seven. Brendan Rodgers has held extensive talks with Dermot Desmond and other key decision-makers in recent days and his second unveiling is looming into view.

And flight-tracking has played a major role in this pursuit. From Parkhead heavy hitters Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay heading to meet Rodgers in Mallorca to talks with Desmond in London. It has been a chase which happened in the ground and the skies. And Parkhead punters were also on high alert when Desmond touched down in Glasgow on Tuesday on his private jet M-Celt.

But there's another chartered plan which Celtic punters have been drawn to. G-Mato – an aircraft used by the elite on numerous occasions in recent years – has aviation sleuths on alert due to its telling flight plan. It is set to leave London at 13.20 on Friday before it heads to Mallorca. It will then depart the Spanish island at 18.15 before touching down at London Luton. Next up, it will head to popular base Farnbrough in Hampshire.

Will the next destination be Glasgow? That is what Celtic punters are banking on if Rodgers is on board as he gets set to replace Ange Postecoglou and pick up where he left before his abrupt exit for Leicester City in 2019.
