Celtic fan 'cleans up' Rutherglen by removing Union Jack following derby victory over Rangers

A Celtic fan has been filmed tearing down Union Jacks following victory over Rangers.

Ange Postecoglou's side extended their lead at the top of the Premiership following the 2-1 victory at Ibrox.

Aaron Ramsey had given Rangers the lead before goals from Tom Rogic and Cameron Carter-Vickers sealed derby day bragging rights.

Following the game, footage has now emerged of a fan ripping down flags in Rutherglen.

The clip shared on Twitter shows the Celtic supporter climbing a lamppost on Main Street alongside the caption: "Cleaning up Rutherglen."

It was a day of incident on and off the park for supporters.

Ahead of kick-off, the Premiership leaders were seeking a quiet evening at the Dakota Hotel at Eurocentral on the outskirts of Glasgow on Saturday night before fireworks were let off outside the hotel.

The second half of the game was held up by a few minutes as Ibrox groundstaff were called in to clear up shards of glass after a bottle was hurled towards Celtic keeper Joe Hart’s goal.
