Celtic will appear before UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on Wednesday, February 5, after being hit with a fresh charge relating to the use of pyrotechnics by supporters during last week’s Champions League clash with Aston Villa.
The Glasgow club was already under a two-year suspended sanction, having been fined €20,000 for a similar offence in a Europa League tie against Borussia Dortmund last season. That ruling carried the additional threat of a one-match away ticket ban if further incidents occurred within the timeframe.
Now, following the recent league-phase match against Villa, UEFA has issued a fresh disciplinary notice, putting the Scottish Premiership leaders at serious risk of being barred from selling tickets to fans for an upcoming Champions League away fixture.
Celtic have vowed to robustly defend their case and will make every effort to ensure that supporters can attend their next away European match against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, February 18.
However, they have urged fans to be mindful of the situation when making travel arrangements until UEFA delivers its final verdict.

In a statement confirming the latest charge, Celtic said: "The club will obviously make robust representations to Uefa and will make every effort to ensure that our fans can attend our next Champions League match.
"However, clearly there is a risk that supporters may not be able to attend.
"In light of this situation, it is incumbent on the club to make supporters aware of this risk, when considering making arrangements for travel, until further information is provided by Uefa."
