Jeremie Frimpong has been the subject of regular speculation since leaving Celtic for Bayer Leverkusen in 2021 – a situation that's gone into overdrive in spells following the Bundesliga's remarkable 2023/24 campaign.
Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester City have all been cited as potential big-money suitors in the last few weeks, with the former Hoops defender said to have a release clause close to £35m on his head.
In the last stretch alone, 90Mins has Frimpong heading for Liverpool with full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold seemingly unlikely to extend at Anfield after this year.
Sportsmole has the 23-year-old on the cusp of a return to Manchester City, the Dutchman having come through the ranks there before moving north to Celtic.
And if Real Madrid fail to snap up the reportedly outgoing Alexander-Arnold, according to PA, Frimpong has been tipped as the man for the job at the Bernabeu.

With a reported 30 per cent sell-on clause worked into Frimpong's Celtic-to-Leverkusen contract, the Parkhead side now find themselves staring down a ~£7m pay out should a prospective suitor activate the defender's release clause.
Frimpong is otherwise contracted at the German Bundesliga side until the summer of 2028, following a contract extension in the summer of 2023.
