Celtic could be set for further world tours, hints Ange Postecoglou

Celtic could travel on more world tours in the coming years.

Ange Postecoglou has hinted at further trips abroad with the Hoops following the end of their stint in Australia.

The Scottish champions were today knocked out of the Sydney Super Cup after being held to a 0-0 draw with Everton.

The Premier League outfit took the game on penalties, which coupled with Celtic's defeat to Sydney FC, saw the club exit the friendly competition.

The club will still view their trip across the world as an undoubted success, though.

And Postecoglou reckons more trips, to other corners of the globe, could be on the cards in the near future.

He said: "This is the third time now that the club has been here in the near/distant past.

"The club realises that its reach is global and in every part of the world, there are Celtic supporters.

"You have got to share the love around and we may go to other areas first."

On the game with the Toffees itself, the Australian was pleased with what his team produced despite the result.

He added: "Both teams played last week and they are not out of condition. The trip can take its toll but the match was played at a decent tempo with decent intensity and we were just missing a goal in terms of our performance.

"We were just more like ourselves, we were aggressive when we needed to be and we were decent when we had the ball. We were aggressive when we didn't have it and that was a lot better tonight.

"I think some of the boys have acclimatised now, and I could see in training and on the pitch that they were much better and more like themselves.

"We were just missing a goal, but overall the performance was good."
