Celtic Connections shows cancelled amid red weather warning

ALL Celtic Connections performances on Friday, January 24, are postponed due to the red weather warning.

It comes amid “do not travel” advice issued because of Storm Eowyn, with schools across the country also announcing closures.

A spokesperson for Celtic Connections said: “All Celtic Connections performances on Friday 24 January are postponed due to the red weather warning and 'do not travel' advice issued because of Storm Eowyn.

"As it stands, we expect venues to re-open and for all shows to go ahead on Saturday 25 January. We will be in touch as soon as we can with more details for ticket holders for Friday’s shows.”

The Celtic Connections shows cancelled include: 

  • 12.30pm - New Talent at Glasgow Caledonian University
  • 2.00pm - Merchant City Trad Trail 2025 at Scottish Music Centre
  • 5.00pm - Danny Kyle Open Stage at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall
  • 7.30pm - Song Club: Nell Mescal, Katie Gregson-MacLeod, Elanor Moss & Special Guests at Saint Luke's
  • 7.30pm - Alisa Amador and Mared Williams at The National Piping Centre
  • 7.30pm - Winter Bloom: Brìghde Chaimbeul, Assynt & Sian at the Pavilion Theatre
  • 7.30pm - Scottish Chamber Orchestra with Julie Fowlis, Éamon Doorley, Zoë Conway, John Mc Intyre and Máirtín O'Connor at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall
  • 7.30pm - Elephant Sessions and The East Pointers at the O2 Academy
  • 7.30pm - The Seeger Sessions Revival and Irish Mythen at Òran Mór
  • 7.30pm - Orkney Anniversary Special: The Chair 20th with FARA 10th and Gnoss at The Barrowland Ballroom
  • 7.30pm - The Friel Sisters with Nuala Kennedy & Eamon O’ Leary at Tramway
  • 8.00pm - Ross Miller Band with Fell Line at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall
  • 8.00pm - Curlew and Aurora Engine at The Glad Cafe
