Celtic Champions League rivals RB Leipzig condemn supporter over vile Nazi salute

RB Leipzig  have condemned one of their own fans for making a Nazi salute in their last home game, ahead of their visit to Celtic in the Champions League.

The German high-fliers visit Glasgow to face the Hoops in the fourth game of the new-look format for the competition.

But they have been rocked by a scandalous incident last week when they defeated St Pauli 4-2 in the German Cup  where one of their supporters was caught taunting the away fans of the Hamburg club with an offensive salute - which is illegal in the country.

RB Leipzig stated: "One of our supporters submitted an image capturing a man in our stands signalling the so-called Hitler salute.

"We quickly confirmed the actions of the suspected perpetrator.

"All available video material from the surveillance cameras was also evaluated, but unfortunately our security staff did not witness the actual incident.

"If he has been noticed, in accordance with the stadium regulations, the person would have been immediately expelled from the Red Bull Arena, banned from the premises and immediately reported to the police.

"All material has now been handed over to the police."
