Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has had his say on the latest speculation linking him with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Postecoglou toasted a domestic treble in Scotland after Celtic beat Inverness Caledonian Thistle 3-1 at Hampden Park in the Scottish Cup final on Saturday. The 57 year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs, with bookmakers suspending the betting on their markets for who is going to replace Antonio Conte at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Conte was sacked by Spurs in March with Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason seeing out the season in caretaker charge. Postecoglou was asked about his future, with the Australian on a 12-month rolling contract at Celtic Park after replacing Neil Lennon in summer 2021 after the Bhoys failed in a move for Eddie Howe.
"I understand all that," he said of questions directed at him about what is next for him. "But I am going to be a bit selfish here, not just for myself but my family and people around me, we have all worked really hard to enjoy this moment.
"As disappointing as that may be for people, that is what I am going to do - we have worked too hard as players and managers. "If I again start talking about things right now that aren't really important to me and those around me, so I am just enjoying this and will do for as long as I can before people drag me away to talk about other things."
Former Spurs goalkeeper Joe Hart, meanwhile, also responded to the rumours linking Postecoglou with an exit. "When you are around amazing footballers and top managers, the noise is always there - but that is all it is," Hart said.
"We are privileged to be on the inside and today was the focus all week, the manager made that very clear. "Whatever happens now will (happen) - it is the world of football, full of speculation and rumour, but the facts today were we had a treble to focus on and we did it."
