Now Leicester City boss Rodgers was no stranger to big nights under the lights after guiding Celtic twice into the Champions League group stages and experiencing showdowns against European heavyweights such as PSG, Barcelona and Manchester City.
Celtic boss Postecoglou has a good relationship with Rodgers who he has hailed as being 'really good'.
And he says hearing those tales from the former Hoops boss helped aid his hunger to make sure his men won the Premiership and landed a spot at Europe's big table.
Speaking to Stan Sport, he said: “When I got the job Brendan Rodgers reached out to me and he’s been really good.
"He said that European nights at Celtic Park are something special.
“That was the big carrot this year.
"We knew that winning this year potentially meant qualification which is massive.
"If I needed any further incentive to get us any further over the line this year then this was it.”
