Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou a 'strong contender' for Brighton post after Graham Potter Chelsea move

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is under 'serious consideration' for the vacant job at English Premier League outfit Brighton, according to a report.

Graham Potter has left the Seagulls to take on the top job at Chelsea following their decision to get rid of Thomas Tuchel. It has left the club looking for a new manager of their own with the Sunday Times reporting the Hoops gaffer features as a 'strong contender' on a long list of targets.

The EPL side are said to have been impressed by feedback on the Aussie boss. Not only his transformation of the Celtic team on the pitch but also how he handles things off it with his personal qualities and his calm approach to handling the media.

Whether Postecoglou would be interested in making the move south of the border is another question. He's made a stunning start to life at Parkhead as he won back the Premiership title from Rangers last season and lifted the Premier Sports Cup.

This season so far his side are six for six in the league and have netted a whopping 25 goals in the process while they are also playing in the Champions League in a group section that contains Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk and RB Leipzig.

The 57-year-old has also enjoyed great success in the transfer market since his arrival with the Scottish champions recruiting very well with the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi, Joe Hart, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota, Matt O'Riley, Reo Hatate, Liel Abada and more.

Former Shakhtar boss Roberto De Zerbi and Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen are two other names reported to be in the frame.
