Celtic and Rangers moaners get mirror turned on them by fed up punter from a 'wee diddy team' - Hotline

It's a mixed bag of moans and Hotline groans as Old Firm fans continue to cry conspiracy and point the finger at dodgy calls by referees.

There is also a bit of humour laced into Scotland’s most read forum for fans to make their point.

Chris Lowe, Yoker, said: “It was hysterical stuff on Wednesday’s Hotline from Celtic fans trying to defend the plethora of dodgy decisions that have gone their way this season

“One caller remembers the penalty Kirk Broadfoot won 15 years ago while another claims Rangers have had all the decisions for years. This is despite his team winning eight of the last ten league titles plus being awarded one and another called claims Rangers fans were nowhere to be seen for nine years.”

John Scott, Grassmoor , said: “What would we do without the Old Firm banter on the Hotline? As a fan of one of the wee diddy clubs who make up the numbers in the SPFL, can I please express my gratitude towards each and every one of them. No matter how bad a day I’m facing, a daily glance at the Hotline lightens the gloom.

"How else can you react, reading them both whinging about dodgy officials than by having a bout of laughter. Having followed Hibs to both Glasgow giants since the mid seventies, it’s extremely hard to take their concerns of bias against each other seriously. Having personally witnessed the multitude of dodgy decisions given against my club at both grounds, it’s laughable to hear them whinge about bias against them.”

Robert Hoey, Kirkintilloch, said: “I think if Hotline caller Mr Robinson thinks Rangers fans were nowhere to be seen for nine years, he should have another look. We didn’t do walking away unlike his club who had to shut sections of their stadium due to no fans.

“Our club is very much alive as the most successful in the world.”

Arrin Geddes, Irvine, said: “A week after James Bisgrove stated that Rangers did their own deal regarding the trip down under, we are being led to believe that Rangers have somehow been part of Celtic’s negotiations with their contract. How gullible do they think their fans are?

Bud Hay, Dumfries, said: “May I remind Hotline caller John Bruce that Celtic have been there, done it, and wore the t-shirt so will see how Rangers get on in Europe, then he can have something to brag about as that’s all the Rangers brag about. Can I remind him that his club were six points clear and blew it. The title flag is coming home to Parkhead as Rangers only had a loan of it .”

Scott Gowers, Edinburgh, said: “It’s obvious Celtic couldn’t care about Europe this season as they seem to be concentrating on the league. The league is nowhere near done and dusted yet but if a Scottish club doesn’t care about the coefficient and only concentrating on the Champions League riches, then they shouldn’t represent Scotland in Europe.”

George Wilson, West Sussex, said: “Gordon Strachan says Scott Brown’s goal for Aberdeen against Rangers could win Celtic the title. What utter nonsense. Out of all the goals scored for or against Rangers and Celtic, he’s picking that out as the league decider. “He’s still talking as much nonsense as he did as a pundit and Brown won’t be missed. Anyone who claps and mocks a fellow professional after getting them deliberately sent off as he did with Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent deserves no respect, unlike other Celtic captains in the past.”

Gary Stevenson, Newtonhill , said: “Fair play to Celtic. With all households being told to turn down their thermostats due to the current energy prices, Celtic have said that they won’t be using their disco lights again this season.”

And finally...

Robert Livingstone, Palm Beach, said: “I read with great interest that excellent article by Record Sport’s Gavin Berry on the young Ranger Tony Weston who’s scoring goals galore for the reserve side. My memory takes me back to a teenage Jim Forrest who did similar when he first arrived who became one of Rangers’ greatest players, could history repeat itself with Tony Weston?”
