Celtic and Rangers 'interested' in Blackburn star Tyrhys Dolan

Celtic and Rangers 'interested' in Blackburn star Tyrhys Dolan

CELTIC and Rangers have been linked with a move for Blackburn Rovers ace Tyrhys Dolan.

The in-demand Championship winger came through the Manchester City academy before a switch to Ewood Park in 2020.

He became a major player for the club under Tony Mowbray. Last term, he netted five goals in 37 appearances.

Now, he is attracting interest from several clubs in the UK - with talkSPORT claiming that Celtic and Rangers are keen on the 20-year-old.

The radio station have namechecked the Premiership pair alongside Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest as clubs who are admirers of the player.

It's said that Rovers would be looking for a fee of up to £3million for Dolan, who has two-years left on his contract.

Tony Mowbray spoke about Dolan's talents last season.

Mowbray said: “Tyrhys plays in our team because he sets the tone of hard work.

“I don’t think he sits there and thinks he’s Lionel Messi, he runs and runs, closes, chases and gets his rewards.

“He’s undoubtedly got talent as he showed numerous times, scored a wonderful goal, got in behind them, second half quite a bit, the growth areas for Tyrhys Dolan are his final ball and delivery in the box.

“He got into some amazing positions but just needs to pick someone out for a side-foot finish and we win the game three or 4-0.

“I pick him almost every week because of the work he puts in, and that’s what we demand as the starting point, that everyone has to run, chase, fight, tackle, put your foot in, but as a striker he has to score goals and create chances and he’s doing that.”
