A section of both the Celtic and Rangers supports let their feelings known in their first game since hearing the news of a proposed friendly match with each other later this year.
The Parkhead club were first to announce a 'four team tournament' and billed it as Ange Postecoglou's homecoming to Australia.
But rumour had it that their great rivals were one of the proposed opponents in the first derby every played overseas.
And when Rangers confirmed their participation on Wednesday the reaction online, from both sets of supporters, was one of fury.
Celtic hosted St Mirren on Wednesday night in a bid to maintain or increase a three-point Premiership lead over the Ibrox club while Rangers set out hoping to eat into that lead in Perth against St Johnstone.
But as the teams emerged from the tunnel in Glasgow's east end a banner was unfurled from the Green Brigade standing section.
It read: "We're not half of anything * unless there's money to be made.
"Shove your 'Old Firm' friendly up your a***."
And a similar banner was displayed in the McDiarmid away end: "Money over morals.
"No d£rby friendlies."
Chants railing against the proposed fixture could also be heard.
The Sydney Super Cup, which also includes local A-League sides Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers, is scheduled to take place between November 16 to November 20 this year, just before World Cup 2022 gets under way.
