Celtic and Rangers chosen for Premier Sports Cup broadcast as transfer deadline day takes a twist

Strap in for a manic transfer deadline day in Scotland with the end of the summer window clashing with the Premier Sports Cup. The broadcaster have chosen Celtic's visit to Ross County on August 31 and Rangers' clash with Queen of the South on August 30 for live TV coverage.

The last 16 card brings in the Premiership's top six and those who progressed through the group stage for some hotly-anticipated ties. The first batch of fixtures will take place the day before transfer drama reaches fever pitch while the second lot will be played as clubs rush to complete last-minute deals.

It's a recipe for an intense 24 hours on what is already one of the busiest days of the SPFL calendar. Holders Celtic will start their defence of the trophy in the Highlands, with Ange Postecoglou's side and rivals Rangers deemed as highlights of the round by Premier Sports bosses.
