Willie Collum has been named as the referee for Celtic vs Kilmarnock in the Viaplay Cup semi-final while Nick Walsh will preside over Rangers vs Aberdeen.
The Scottish Premiership goes on ice for the League Cup's final four this weekend with both semi-finals set to take place at Hampden. Defending champions Celtic face Killie on Saturday while Jim Goodwin's team look for an upset on Sunday against a Rangers side who look rejuvenated under Michael Beale.
The past few weeks have been dominated by talk of refereeing and VAR decisions with Celtic demanding SFA clarification over their implementation of the technology after they were denied a penalty for handball against Connor Goldson. The Rangers defender was involved in a similar incident against Dundee United and after all the controversy, the refereeing appointments for the two semi-final showdowns were always going to capture fans' attentions.
It has now been revealed that Collum will take charge of Celtic vs Kilmarnock with Greg Aitken in the VAR room, while Walsh will be in the middle for Rangers vs Aberdeen with Alan Muir VAR.
