A non-stop style of play would see Celtic earn more reward than Rangers if FIFA’s new stoppage time directive was implemented in Scottish football.
Time wasting has been eradicated at World Cup 2022 in Qatar as several games have gone beyond the 100 minute mark with officials told to add on each additional second at the end of matches. Whether such drastic additional time is coming to Scotland's Premiership remains unknown but Parkhead boss Ange Postecoglou has been miffed by the amount of time VAR has taken to make decisions in its early matches in the division.
It puts the brakes on his 'we never stop' style of play and ex-referee Steve Conroy believes that Celtic would be pleased to see such measures brought in, while Rangers wouldn't take as much with a slower tempo. Former whistler Conroy told BonusCodeBets: "Currently, Celtic would benefit from the new rules most because they play everything so quickly and they don't want any breaks at all.

"Celtic steamroll everyone so the longer that they have the ball and play, the more likely they are to benefit from it. "It would definitely do Celtic the power of good.
"Rangers wouldn't benefit from it as much as Celtic but they will both beat most other teams.
"So the longer the ball is in play, the more likely they are to benefit but Rangers don't play like Celtic - Celtic are non-stop."
