Celtic ace Kyogo arriving into Stade Rennais crisis

Kyogo Furuhashi is set to arrive at a club in crisis with Rennes on the verge of sacking their boss after five defeats in a row and sinking into the relegation zone.

The Celtic hero will seal a £10 million deal with the struggling Ligue 1 outfit with Portuguese ace Jota heading the other way in an emotional return to Parkhead.

Rennes suffered yet another defeat at the weekend in a 3-2 loss at Monaco to leave them level on points with Nantes in the relegation zone in the French top flight.

Their Argentinian manager Jorge Sampaoli is reportedly on the brink of being axed despite being handed significant transfer funds.

After another defeat, he admitted that the decision on his future was out of his hands.

He said: "You always feel under pressure when you are a manager.

"But I also feel I will work as hard as I can to get this club out of a difficult situation.

"It has been well publicised that we need players and we are approaching news on that front. I am meeting the president again to discuss the solutions for arrivals.

"We lost stupid goals that cost us the match."

Meanwhile, Kyogo has been praised by the striker who is set to lose his place with the imminent arrival of the Japanese star.

Algerian hitman Amine Gouiri said: "The reason Kyogo Furuhashi is coming to the club is because we need him.

"We need reinforcement in attack. It's good for the club.

"Competition is part of the job. And I think it is good for everyone to increase the level. I hope he will help us a lot."
