Celtic academy kid completes permanent Hearts switch

Highly rated Celtic academy kid Aiden Haddow has permanently joined Heart of Midlothian.

The 19-year-old has penned a one-and-a-half-year deal in Gorgie and will initially join up with Angus Beith's B team, who compete in the Lowland League, Scottish football's fifth tier.

Haddow departs Celtic, having made 14 appearances for the club's B side this campaign, scoring one goal and setting up another.

His new club have proven there is a path to the first team this season, with the likes of James Wilson and Adam Forrester breaking through.

Haddow will be hoping he is the next to do so after swapping Glasgow for Scotland's capital.

Speaking to Hearts' official website, B team manager Beith hailed the acquisition of the youngster: "Aiden is a very exciting young player, who will add further competition to our midfield," he said.

"Technically, he is excellent, but more importantly he has that hunger and desire to learn and keep improving his game.

"I'm delighted he's with us and I'm looking forward to working with him."

Hearts B currently sit 10th in the Lowland League, 17 points behind Haddow's now former club Celtic, who occupy third spot.

The central midfielder will be keen to make his debut in maroon against league leaders East Kilbride on Friday night and, from there, forge his way into the first team.
