Celtic 6 Hibs 1 as James Forrest hits hat-trick and becomes Hoops century man - 3 things we learned

James Forrest showed he still has a huge part to play at Celtic as he became a century Bhoy.

Ange Postecoglou handed the Hoops legend a rare start and boy did he repay his manager with a hat-trick as the Scottish champions ran out huge winners over Hibs at Parkhead. The treble also took him to 100 goals for the club in a stunning afternoon for the Scotland international.

Victory moves the league leaders five points clear of nearest rivals Rangers ahead of their trip to Fir Park on Sunday. Aussie boss Postecoglou rang the changes for this one after Champions League disappointment against RB Leipzig during the week. They've now given the manager food for thought going forward after this big win. Especially Forrest. Here's three things we learned from the Hoops' big win over Lee Johnson's Hibees.

Century Bhoy

James Forrest has played well over 400 times for Celtic as a one man club star.

At the age of 31 he may not get as many regular minutes as he would like.

A rare chance and opportunity from the start for the Scotland attacker and he took it with both hands.

A lovely finish with just nine minutes on the clock to grab the opener on the day before adding a second via the aid of a David Marshall howler. He completed his treble and landed his 100th goal for the Bhoys.

His fourth goal of the season and first three in the Premiership. Doing all he can to force his way in more often.

Ring the changes

Ange Postecoglou continued to use his strength and depth in his Celtic ranks as he made five changes to the team.

Anthony Ralston, Alexandro Bernabei, Aaron Mooy, James Forrest and Giorgos Giakoumakis all came in with Yosuke Ideguchi making his first appearance on the bench this season.

Liel Abada, Josip Juranovic, Greg Taylor, Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda all dropped out from the midweek Champions League defeat to RB Leipzig.

Striker battle

Giorgos Giakoumakis got the nod ahead of Kyogo Furuhashi for this one at Parkhead.

And he's given Ange Postecoglou something to think about after netting twice in an easy 6-1 win.

The Japan international has seven goals in eight domestic outings but has yet to break his Champions League duck.

Giakoumakis has had to bide his time with a fair whack of his minutes coming from the bench.

But after his 95th minute winner at St Johnstone, he made it three goals from two games with a double against the Hibees.
