A celebrity osteopath is facing a string of new allegations of voyeurism including claims he spied on patients at his London clinic.

Torben Hersborg, 63, was first arrested and charged in December last year after he was caught using a camera and telescope to record female university students as they got undressed.

He admitted voyeurism on three different days when his car had been spotted loitering in the area, and he agreed to co-operate with detectives investigating the contents of electronic devices seized from his vehicle and east London family home.

Now Hersborg has been charged seven fresh counts of voyeurism, covering alleged behaviour dating back to March 2012.

Hersborg, a childhood friend of actor Mads Mikkelsen, is the director of the Central London Osteopathy and Sports Clinic in Old Street, central London.

He counted tennis champion Caroline Wozniacki as a top client, had worked with Italian Serie A football team Brescia, and boasted on Instagram that his practice is “trusted by Olympic champions”.

His social media feed includes a video of a treatment session with Strictly Come Dancing contestant Viscountess Emma Weymouth, as well as pictures posing with DJ Fearne Cotton, Oscar-winning actor Mark Rylance, Olympic sprinter Yohan Blake, and musicians Ronnie Wood and Beverley Knight.

Court papers show Hersborg is now accused over 42 videos found on a camcorder in his car when he was arrested, and 59 recordings discovered on an SD card at his home.

It is said Hersborg spied on victims “on beaches, footpaths, roads and bus stops”.

And he is accused, between March 14, 2012 and October last year, of voyeurism at his Old Street clinic, of having “recorded another person doing a private act” with intent to “obtain sexual gratification”.

Hersborg faces allegations of voyeurism in the boroughs of Islington and Hackney, as well as specifically at a student halls of residence in King’s Cross.

He appeared at Highbury Corner magistrates court on Monday to face the new charges for the first time.

Hersborg did not enter any pleas to eight counts of voyeurism, as the case was sent to Snaresbrook crown court for a hearing later this month.

An earlier hearing was told concerns were raised last December when Hersborg was seen crawling around in his Lexus while peering out of the window at the Chapter student halls.

He was arrested on December 21 last year, and admitted spying on female students.

Prosecutor Varinder Hayre told the court the halls have floor-to-ceiling windows, and Hersborg’s car was parked on Collier Street with a direct view at some of the bedrooms.

“The first videos viewed showed a female inside the university accommodation in just a t-shirt. She is bent over at the time, and it captured the female’s buttocks while she is bent over”, she said.

“Another video shows a different female in a different room, sitting on the bed.

“The third video is a different female in a bra with her back to the window, seemingly getting dressed.”

When he was arrested, Hersborg had a camera and a telescope in the car, and claimed he was on the back seat of his car to “relax“.

Ms Hayre said Hersborg, who is married with a grown-up daughter, told officers he had been to his club in Chelsea for a drink after a judo training session, and he had stopped in King’s Cross as it was halfway to his home in Wapping, east London.

Hersborg, of Peartree Lane in Wapping, remains in custody.
