ITV's Celebrity Lingo kicked off its first series on Sunday evening. Drag Race star RuPaul Charles invited three groups of celebrities to have a go at the popular gameshow, which usually airs a non-celebrity version with Adil Ray. Among the celebs taking part in the first episode were Coronation Street stars Andy Whyment (Kirk Sutherland) and Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs).
After welcoming the Corrie stars onto the show, RuPaul asked: "Have there ever been spin-offs of Coronation Street?" and Andy replied: "I did one once called Out of Africa where we went out to South Africa and did a spin-off DVD. It did alright, not amazing!"
"Not as good as the main show anyway," he continued, before RuPaul asked: "What was the premise of Out of Africa?" and he said: "It was just a spin-off of the show where a few characters went off and had a bit of fun in the bush in South Africa to be honest with you." The confused host then admitted that he "didn't understand a word [Andy] said".

As mentioned, Out of Africa was a direct-to-video spin-off film of long-running ITV soap, Coronation Street. The 2008 film also starred Jennie McAlpine (Fiz Brown), Wendi Peters (Cilla Battersby-Brown), Sam Aston (Chesney Battersby-Brown) and Katherine Kelly (Becky McDonald). Michelle Keegan also appeared in a cameo role as Tina McIntyre.
Out of Africa saw mother from hell Cilla bring her son Chesney and other "son" Kirk over to Africa to win a competition for $500,000. The film was the first of two other direct-to-video Coronation Street spin-off films.
Also appearing in the first episode of Celebrity Lingo was presenter Joel Dommett and his wife Hannah and Good Morning Britain's Laura Tobin and Andi Peters.
On hosting the first inception of the celebrity series, RuPaul Charles said: “Now, more than ever before, people want to have fun, and Celebrity Lingo is here to serve it up generously.” You can catch up on the first episode on ITV Hub.
