Celebrity interior designer Nate Berkus says this popular pattern will never go out of style

We love interior designer and television host Nate Berkus for his ingenious organizational hacks and original bedroom styling tips. His warm and inviting Instagram reels offer thoughtful advice that just makes our homes feel better.

We saw Nate Berkus using 2-Tiered Pull-Out Drawer Organizers, so we bought 2 Tiered Pull-Out Drawer Organizers. So, when the Nate & Jeremiah by Design host took to Instagram to say that he loves decorating with stripes, we couldn’t argue.

In a recent reel, the former Oprah Winfrey Show guest asks his audience ‘Did you ever wonder why people decorate with stripes so often?’ He pauses, showing off the Painted Stripe Quilt Set from his Nate Home collection. He continues ‘They're very easy to incorporate into your space. It’s kind of like baby steps into embracing pattern. I know you can’t go full floral or paisley’ he smiles. ‘This’ he says, motioning to the subtle stripe on his neutral bed sham ‘is still considered a pattern.’

For many of us who may be pattern-averse, the idea that you can incorporate a pattern subtly without making a huge splash is very comforting. Pattern and texture are essential for incorporating interest in a monochromatic color scheme, but as Nate mentions, bolder schemes like florals or paisley can be intimidating and difficult to work around. By incorporating the subtle stripe into the bedroom, Nate adds visual interest to his chosen beige and taupe color palette. Nate’s statement is a friendly reminder that the classics will always work and that a casual and simple pattern like the stripe isn’t going anywhere anytime soon!
