Celebrity Hunted: Strictly's Katya Jones announced in Channel 4 line-up

Strictly Come Dancing star Katya Jones will feature in the upcoming series of Celebrity Hunted. The dancer will swap the ballroom for being on the run as the Channel 4 show kicks off tomorrow (March 28).

The Russian dancer and choreographer first joined Strictly as a professional dancer in 2016. She won the series alongside Joe McFadden in 2017 and danced with Tony Adams in the latest edition.

Katya, who started dancing at the age of six, will now be tasked with going on the run for two weeks in mainland Great Britain, avoiding a team of specialist Hunters comprised of police and intelligence personnel. The celebrity edition of Hunted, which began in 2017, is in aid of Stand Up to Cancer.

Katya, 33, faced media turmoil after being photographed kissing her Strictly celebrity partner Seann Walsh while on a night out during the series in 2019. She married fellow dancer Neil Jones in 2013.

The pair met in 2008 when Neil filled in for Katya's usual partner at the Blackpool competition. They soon became four-time British National Champions and three-time World Amateur Latin Champions.

In 2019, the couple announced that they had decided to separate. However, they remained on good terms and insisted the split was not influenced by Katya's kiss with Seann Walsh.

When is Celebrity Hunted on?

Celebrity Hunter begins on Channel 4 at 9pm tomorrow night (Tuesday, March 28). Episodes will also be available to watch on All 4.

Who is taking part in Celebrity Hunted?

Katya Jones will be partnered with former Olympic athlete Aimee Fuller. The pair are said to be best friends.

Also in the line-up are comedians and hosts of the Off Menu podcast, Ed Gamble and James Acaster. The two oldest contestants, aged at 61 and 53 respectively, are TV personalities Nik and Eva Speakman.

Meanwhile, YouTuber Saffron Barker and TV mathematician Bobby Seagull are partnered together. Finally, the line-up is completed by Coronation Street actress Nicola Thorp and boyfriend Nikesh Patel.

The ten celebrities will attempt to avoid capture for two weeks as a new team of hunters try to track them down. Ian Dunkley, Commissioning Editor for Factual Entertainment at Channel 4, said: "We are delighted to be bringing back one of the most thrilling nationwide chase games."
