Celebrity Gogglebox viewers praised UK Eurovision entry Sam Ryder on his debut on the Channel 4 programme. The musician – who finished runner-up to Ukraine in the international music competition last month – joined DJ Scott Mills on Friday's episode.
Ryder was among the famous faces to turn armchair critics as the regular Gogglebox cast takes a break. He helped review programmes including Hunted, Bargain Hunt and the latest series of Stranger Things.
But some viewers said an opportunity had been missed in the choice of which part of the BBC's Platinum Party at the Palace was aired. While the celebrities were tasked with commenting on a sketch featuring the Queen and Paddington Bear, some thought it would have been amusing for Ryder to comment on his own performance outside Buckingham Palace.

The musician sang his 2022 Eurovision song, Space Man, to a live crowd on the Mall in central London on Saturday. The song previously helped propel the UK to second place in the music competition in Turin, scoring 466 points to Ukraine's 631.
Commenting on social media, Owen said: "Wouldn't it be hilarious if @SamRyderMusic was watching the Jubilee as you know, he was there.."
Sadie added: "How can Gogglebox show the jubilee concert beginning and not show @SamRyderMusic to Sam and Scott. Or are we missing something?"
Other viewers were simply glad to see Ryder on the programme. Nicola said: "Sam Ryder is everywhere and I love it."
Mel posted: "Another 12 points?! Sam you gave us one of the greatest nights in the history of Eurovision. Thank you."
Jennifer commented: "Love you (both)."
Other celebrities to feature on Gogglebox included Nick and Liv Grimshaw, Rylan and his mum Linda, Shaun Ryder and Bez, Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher, Martin and Roman Kemp, Mo Gilligan and Babatunde Aléshé and Mel C and her brother Paul.
Celebrity Gogglebox continues next Friday at 9pm on Channel 4 and All4.
