Celebrity Gogglebox fans 'gutted' as stars won't be returning for new series

Celebrity Gogglebox fans have been left "gutted" following a change to the Channel 4 show ahead of its Friday night launch. The hilarious series, which sees famous faces swap the glitzy jobs they're known for to become a TV critic from the comfort of their living rooms, is set to return to our screens tomorrow (June 16).

Ahead of the new series landing, the cast of celebrity critics has been teased on social media, with a few fresh faces joining the show. 00s hip hop trio N-Dubz and singer-songwriter Tom Grennan, who will be joined by his dad, are set to invite viewers into their homes as they sit down and give their thoughts on the latest TV alongside

Those returning to the celebrity edition of the popular Channel 4 series include Nick and Liv Grimshaw, Bez and Shaun Ryder, Paul Sinha and Olly Levy, Clare Balding and Alice Arnold, Martin and Roman Kemp, Tubsey, Big Zuu and Hyder, and Rob Beckett and Tom Allen. Whilst fans are excited to watch telly with their favourite celebs, some have been left disappointed after realising that their favourite stars have been omitted from the new line up.

Viewers have been questioning on social media why former X Factor star and TV presenter Rylan Clark and his mother, Linda, are not featured on the new Celebrity Gogglebox cast list. It also looks like football player Micah Richards will not be taking part in the new series.

Stephanie wrote: "They're all amazing but am slightly heartbroken Rylan and Linda aren't here."

"No Rylan???" questioned Una.

"Where's Micah Richards I wont be watching now," said Carla. "I'm gutted."

Whilst fans have been upset by Rylan, Linda and Micah stepping away from the latest Celebrity Gogglebox series, they have been pleased with new additions to the cast. Ex-Big Brother host Davina McCall will be beamed into our living rooms from her's alongside her boyfriend, Michael Douglas.

Rylan and Linda did not appear in the 2021 series of Celebrity Gogglebox as the presenter battled with his mental health. During an appearance on This Morning last June, ahead of the 2022 series kicking off, Rylan told Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary that it wasn't his mum, who has appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox with a drip in the past, that was ill, as he originally said

"It wasn't [mum], it was actually me," Rylan explained: "Obviously, last year, I wasn't too well and at the time, [the excuse] was 'mum isn't too well with her Crohn's' but yeah, no, it was actually me who wasn't too well last year."

Rylan has been incredibly candid about his mental health, revealing last year that he had spent six weeks in a mental health hospital following the breakdown of his six-year marriage. Thankfully, the reality star was able to get back on track and wrote about his struggles in his memoir "TEN: The Decade that Changed My Future".
