Chris Packham will appear on the new season of Celebrity Gogglebox alongside his stepdaughter Megan McCubbin, it has been announced. The 62-year-old Springwatch star will join other new famous faces on the Channel 4 show such as Davina McCall and Katherine Ryan.
Speaking to RadioTimes.com, Packham said he is "looking forward" to taking to the sofa and reacting to the hottest TV of the week. He described the popular series as a "barometer" of what is going on in the UK.
The naturalist and broadcaster said: "Gogglebox is a real barometer of what the nation is talking about. I am looking forward for Megan and I to add our two-bits to the conversation."

Other big names on the show include Martin and Roman Kemp, and Nick Grimshaw and his niece Liv. Also featuring are Mo Gilligan with Babatunde Aléshé, Shaun Ryder and Bez, and Sam Ryder and Scott Mills.
Earlier this year, Packham took a "three-month break" from TV. He said the decision was down to "creative frustration rather than burnout".
He explained: "So I’ll be spending three months thinking hard about how I’m going to spend the next three. Because the next three, the three after and the three after that are becoming increasingly important when it comes to winning this battle to protect life on Earth."
The new season of Celebrity Gogglebox kicks off on Friday, June 16 at 10pm on Channel 4.
