Celebrity Gogglebox 2022 - full cast from footballers to Spice Girl and Carol Vorderman

Celebrity Gogglebox fans were introduced to all their old favourites and some new faces when the latest season started earlier this month.

Channel 4 ’s hit show did such a good job of making stars out of ordinary Joes watching TV programmes in their own living rooms since 2013 that it added a celebrity spin-off six years later.

Offering an insight into the home lives of the rich and famous, viewers have seen Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore and husband Iain Stirling grace their screens, along with footballer Jamie Vardy and his wife Rebekah Vardy - a household name following the recent Wagatha Christie libel case.

With the 2022 series having started on Friday June 10, viewers were able to watch Premier League stars, Strictly Come Dancing winners and even one of the Spice Girls passing comment on the latest telly programmes.

Eurovision star Sam Ryder and BBC Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills were spotted during the debut episode of the new series.

Sam is fresh from his second-place performance at this year’s Eurovision contest and also from having performed during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Former Strictly Come Dancing winner Bill Bailey and his dance partner Oti Mabuse are the other brand new duo joining this year’s show.

Old faces, new friends

There are also new faces alongside some of the regulars.

Following her split from partner Eddie Boxshall, TV presenter Denise van Outen is sharing her sofa with friend Duncan James, a singer with boy band Blue.

Former MP Gyles Brandreth has got not one but two new famous box-watching partners.

Absolutely Fabulous star Dame Joanna Lumley joined the married broadcaster for the opening episodes of the new series and former Countdown maths whizz Carol Vorderman has announced that she too will accompany Gyles.

Carol Vorderman said her and friend Gyles Brandreth will be airing some 'no holds barred' opinions on Celebrity Gogglebox (Instagram)

The 61-year-old is set to make her debut on the celebrity edition of the popular programme this week to commentate on the week's best TV alongside her friend of 40 years.

Carol told fans she was excited for viewers to see their "no holds barred" opinions on a show she called "one of my favourite of all time".

"Watch this week and let me know if you agree... we're a bit vocal," she said on Instagram.

Actress Dame Maureen Lipman, who had joined father-of-three Gyles in previous seasons, revealed during an appearance on ITV ’s Loose Women that she had turned down the opportunity to return because “none of the clever things we said went into it”.

Premier League footballers on Celebrity Gogglebox

Retired footballers-turned-pundits Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher - who played for rivals Manchester City and Liverpool respectively - have made a return to the show for another year.

Spice Girl Melanie C and her brother Paul have followed on from their debut in 2021.

Who else has returned for the 2022 series?

Familiar faces on the sofas and armchairs include presenter Nick Grimshaw and his niece Liv Grimshaw, along with singer Martin Kemp and his radio star son Roman.

TV presenter Rylan Clark is back with his mum Linda, a fan-favourite thanks to her to-the-point quips, after they missed the last series due to Linda's health.

Happy Mondays pair Shaun Ryder and Bez have made a comeback, as have Clare Balding and Alice Arnold, comedians Mo Gilligan and Babatunde Aléshé, and former X Factor singer Stacey Solomon and partner Joe Swash, formerly an actor on EastEnders.

Television presenter Miquita Oliver and TV chef mum Andi, Loose Women's Judi Love and Charlene White, singer Anne-Marie - joined by sister Samantha - and BBC Radio 2 breakfast show host Zoe Ball and her son Woody Cook make up the rest of the line-up.
